Welcome to the Records and Archives Office web site.

The University’s records are its corporate memory, providing evidence of actions and decisions and representing a vital asset to support its daily functions and operations.

They support policy formation and managerial decision-making.

They protect the interests of UNSW and the rights of staff, graduates, students and citizens, and help UNSW to deliver its services in consistent and equitable ways.

They help UNSW to make good use of precedents and of organisational experience.

Those that are to be kept as university archives form the historical record of UNSW and those that are retained as State archives form part of the cultural resources of New South Wales.

Good recordkeeping supports UNSW in becoming the best university it can be by helping to ensure consistency, continuity, efficiency and productivity.
