    Description
    The Volley Ball Club was re-affiliated with the University of N.S.W. Sports Association in March 1970. It had not previously existed at the University since 1958. The Club has an inclusive focus; being open to "students and non-students, locals and interationals, social and competitive" (http://www.unswvolleyball.org/).

    Description
    The Archery Club was formed during 1977. On 25 July, 1977, the Executive Committee of the University of New South Wales Sports Association discussed the Draft Constitution for the proposed Archery Club to allow it to become a member club of the Association. It was to be raised at the Sports Association General Committee Meeting on 7 September, 1977, and appears to have been approved then or shortly after. By 27 February, 1978, the Club was an official member of the Sport Association, so it must have been approved prior to this date.

    Description
    The UNSW Diary / Almanac initially prepared by the university, then jointly the Students Union / Student Guild and the University Union and later by the Arc, for students and handed out to enrolling and re-enrolling students at the beginning of Session 1. The diary/almanac is a printed booklet that includes a calendar for the year, as well as other useful information about UNSW for students, with later issues including a list of the current clubs and societies on campus. The Archives' holdings of this series is very incomplete.

    Description
    This series consists of the minutes, agendas and papers of the General Committee Meetings of the New South Wales University of Technology Sports Association / University of New South Wales Sports Association. The material is typed and is arranged chronologically. Within the content date range of the material, most minutes and agendas are held in the Archives, including those for Special General Committee meetings. Signed copies of meetings are held for some of the earlier meetings. The meetings were usually held once a month and were to be attended by representatives from the Council, Sports Association and from each sports club. Minutes, agendas and papers from Annual General Meetings have been removed and located in SERIES2551.

    Description
    This series consists of programs, leaftlets, handbills and agendas for meetings of the New South Wales University of Technology/ University of New South Wales Drama Club / Dramatic Society / Drama Society (Dramsoc). The Drama Club was formally established in July 1955. Some of the material is undated. The first program of plays produced by the Club dates from 13 August 1955. Programs are in existence for the years up to 1959 and 1963-64. The program for Little Malcolm and his struggle against the Eunuchs has no date. Also included in this series are some photocopies of handbills produced from the NIDA collection dating from the early 1980s.     Description
    Following the introduction of Voluntary Student Unionism (VSU) by the Commonwealth Government from 1 July 2006, the University Union, Student Guild and COFA Students' Association merged together to form the Arc from the beginning of 2007, as approved by Council at its 6 November 2006 meeting (resolution CL06/87). Launched in Orientation Week 2007, the services provided by the Arc included: - Student Club resources and support - Advocacy & legal services - Roundhouse bar and entertainment programs - Commercial offerings including Zippy's stores, the Campus Art Store and the Graduation & Gift store - Student publications including Tharunka, Blitz, Zing Tycoon and the Student Diary - Student activities and events such a Foundation Day, O-Week and Oktoberfest - Development opportunities and volunteering programs including the Yellow Shirt program and creative development courses (news@unsw, 29 January 2007). The first Chair of the Arc Board was Kate Bartlett, while Arc's first Managing Director was Jodieann Dawe.     Description
    The first annual general meeting for the New South Wales University Theatrical Society (NUTS) was held on 7 March 1986, where the society was established. In the 3 March 1986 edition of Tharunka it was noted that NUTS intended to offer all students of UNSW the opportunity of taking part in student productions (whether it be in lighting, sound production, direction or even acting (V92, CN918/3). In the 2006 NUTS constitution, the principal aims of the society were listed as: 1.2.1 to stage a broad range of theatrical projects involving the students of the University of New South Wales, 1.2.2 to provide a community nexus for students who share an interest in the theatre, 1.2.3 to foster the development of its members' practical theatrical skills (taken from http://www.nuts.org.au - 4/2/08) Controlling Organisation: UNSW - 07/03/1986-

    This series includes booklets listing the Currently Valid Resolutions of General Committee Meetings of the Senior Common Room / University Club. These booklets were produced intermittently from 1984-1995 and contain all the current resolutions pertaining to the Committee as at the date the booklet was printed.

    Description
    On 14 December 1961, a note was circulated by the Sports Association to seek indications of interest in forming a Sailing Club, although it appears that there was insufficient interest. The Club officially formed in early April in 1967, sending a men's team to compete at intervarsity at the University of Sydney that year. The following year, both a male and female team were sent to compete.
