Description
The Industrial Co-operation Committee was formed by the New South Wales Institute of Technology Developmental Council on 27th August, 1947. Its members were R. Webster (Convenor), W. Clegg, H. J. Conde, R. W. Harmon [J. Vernon, Acting], J. N. Kirby and F. M. Mathews. The Committee's terms of reference were: 1. Extent of research work and co-operation with industry. 2. Form of agreements with industry on the application of research work - grants and charges. 3. Patent rights. 4. Private consulting practice of staff. 5. Co-operative courses and day-time release of students from industry. 6. Programme for the immediate future. The only meeting for the Committee took place on 19th September, 1947, where it was decided that little further progress could be made by this committee at this stage, and that no further meetings should be held until after the main council had considered the work of other committees and some decision on general policy reached.
