    Description
    This series consists of the Catalysis newsletter of the Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Society. It was produced by the Executive of the Society in accordance with a motion passed at the Society's 1964 AGM. In the first issue it was noted that the name Catalysis was chosen as a catalyst is something which alters the rate of a reaction ..we hope through this newsletter to increase the activity of the CEUS and that the newsletter was published every three weeks of term. It was noted in the first issue of 1979 that no issues of Catalysis were produced in 1978.

    Description
    This series consists of the Reflux Yearbook of the Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Society. Each item is a typed, paper-bound volume produced by the Society to repesent graduating members. The Yearbooks contain student profiles, reports and sometimes also include contact details of students. It appears that a yearbook was not produced in 1978.

    This series consists of Project Reports of the School of Chemical Engineering. Each item is a typed and bound volume, which documents a project report. These reports were required of students as part of their studies in the School.

    Description
    This series contains the Ingenuity Magazine of the Faculty of Engineering. Each item is a magazine outlining current happenings, research and changes within the Faculty of Engineering, which was generally released twice a year. The first issue noted that Ingenuity "UNSW...are internationally renowned for our innovations in: energy, water, biomedical implants (such as the bionic eye), cybersecurity, transport, sustainable mining, food science, chemical engineering and nanotechnology – the list goes on...Ingenuity profiles some of that work".

    The Faculty of Science was established as one of the first three faculties of the University at the Council meeting on 8th May, 1950 (resolution 54). Professor John Philip Baxter became the Dean of the new Faculty, which initially contained three Schools - Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering. At the 2nd December, 1996 meeting of Council the Faculty of Science was disestablished effective 1st July, 1997 (resolution CL96/88/4).     Mr N. Y. Kirov took up his duties as Senior Lecturer in Fuel Technology within the School of Mining Engineering & Applied Geology in the Faculty of Technology on 18 June 1958 (Council 8 September 1958, resolution 58/101). Thus the Department of Fuel Technology came into being with Mr Kirov at its head (Fuel Technology Advisory Panel, CN913). On 9 May, 1960, Council changed the name of the faculty to the Faculty of Applied Science (resolution 60/55). On 9 September 1963 Council approved the transfer of the department to the School of Chemical Engineering (resolution 63/11), which was effective from 1 October 1963 (file 00015949). On 12 November 1979 Council approved the transfer of the department to the newly formed School of Chemical Engineering & Industrial Chemistry to be effective from 1 January 1980 (resolution 79/157). In October 1996 Associate Professor G. D. Sergeant - then head of the Department of Fuel Technology - retired (file 921049).     On 14 July 1952 Council appointed Dr F. H. Reuter to the position of Associate Professor in Food Technology (resolution 234). When he commenced in this post on 16 July 1952, the Department of Food Technology also came into being within the School of Chemical Engineering in the Faculty of Science (SRF - Food Technology, file 00048296 CN980/102). On 8 November 1954 Council approved the introduction of a full-time degree course in food technology (resolution 518). On 14 May 1956 Council created the Faculty of Technology (resolution 761i) and the School of Chemical Engineering, including the Department of Food Technology, was moved into this faculty. On 9 May 1960, Council changed the name of the faculty to the Faculty of Applied Science (resolution 60/55). On 19 January 1976 Council made the department into a separate School of Food Technology within the Faculty of Applied Science (resolution 76/10).     On 28 September 1988 the Vice-Chancellor's Advisory Committee approved the creation of the Centre for Particle and Catalyst Technologies within the School of Chemical Engineering and Industrial Chemistry in the Faculty of Applied Science. The main aim of the Centre was to encourage and facilitate research in particulate systems and heterogenous catalysis undertaken within the university by promoting unique university facilities as services available to industry and government bodies. The first director of the Centre was Associate Professor Mark Wainwright (file 881038). On 2 December 1996 Council approved the disestablishment of the Faculty of Applied Science - effective 1 July 1997 (resolution CL96/88/4). Consequently, from this date the School of Chemical Engineering and Industrial Chemistry, including the Centre, was moved to the Faculty of Engineering. On 8 March 2004 the director of the Centre, Professor Rose Amal, notified the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) that the Centre was in the process of being disestablished (file 881038).
