    This series contains the Echo Student Newsletter of students of the Faculty of Commerce & Economics. Each item is a typed volume, which consists of articles written by students concerning their field of study. Echo is a biannual publication. The Archives does not hold all issues of this publication.

    On 12 February 1998 the Vice-Chancellor approved the establishment of the Australian Centre for International Business and on 3 March 1998 the Academic Board gave its support to the proposal (resolution AB98/20). The Centre was jointly formed within the Faculty of Commerce & Economics and the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Economics & Commerce. Professor Sidney Gray was appointed as the Centre's director at UNSW. On 26 May 2003 the Centre's Management Committee approved the closure of the Centre effective 1 June 2003 (file 980487).     At the Council meeting on 11 July 1988 major administrative changes were instituted including that the name of the faculty be changed from the Faculty of Commerce to the Faculty of Commerce and Economics effective 1 August 1988 and that certain departments within the existing schools in the faculty become schools in their own right. As a consequence, the Department of Industrial Relations and the Organisational Behaviour Unit were merged to become the new School of Industrial Relations and Organisational Behaviour (resolution 88/90). The first head of school was Professor J. R. Niland. On 21 June 2004 Council resolved to disestablish the schools of Industrial Relations and Organisational Behaviour and International Business within the Faculty of Commerce and Economics and established a new school, the School of Organisation and Management (resolution CL04/81). The School of Industrial Relations and Organisational Behaviour thus ceased to exist from this date.     This series consists of the Investigation into Alumni Opinion on UNSW Financing: A Report to The Vice-Chancellor by Dr Gary Gregory and Prof Mark Uncles, Centre for Applied Marketing UNSW Faculty of Commerce and Economics and Dr Jessica Milner Davis, President Alumni Association. Each item is a typed, paper-bound volume, which was part of a joint research project commissioned to ascertain the views of Alumni on undergraduate student fee rises and University revenue generation and expenditure.     This series consists of photographs of UNSW Asia and its President Greg Whittred, including some relating to his time as Dean of the Faculty of Commerce & Economics. The photos incorporate both portrait shots and images of the UNSW Asia Opening at the Tanglin Campus. Those in digital form have also been copied to the network drive. The papers cover not only Professor Whittred's time as President of UNSW Asia, but also some items from his time as Dean of the Faculty of Commerce & Economics.

    Description
    As a result of a review of the Faculty of Commerce, on 11 July 1988 Council altered the faculty's name to the Faculty of Commerce & Economics effective from 1 August 1988 (resolution 88/90). At the same time all departments within the School of Accountancy were made either schools in their own right or independent departments. This included the Department of Finance, which became the School of Banking and Finance. On 3 July 2006 Council approved the disestablishment of the Faculty of Commerce of Economics and the Australian Graduate School of Management to form the Faculty of Business (resolution CL06/68), with the inaugural meeting of the faculty taking place on 23 November 2006. On 18 June 2007 Council noted the renaming of the Faculty of Business to the Australian School of Business at UNSW, as approved by the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and President of the Academic Board (CL07/33). On 2 July 2014 the Vice-Chancellor's Advisory Committee approved a change in name of the faculty to the UNSW Australia Business School, effective from 23 July 2014.

    This series consists of programs & agreements of the APEC Future Economic Leaders Think Tank, which was project managed by the Asia-Australia Institute The material is typed and arranged in a manilla folder in chronological order. According to the 2001 proposal, the aim of the Think-Tank was to highlight a legitimate and accepted role for Australia as a facilitator of cross-regional networking; a hub for cross-regional research and development projects; and a centre of expertise in a number of key areas to the financial services sector in the Region.
