    This series comprises the School of History & Philosophy of Science / Science & Technology Studies's annual reports to the Committee and minutes of the meetings of the Visiting Committee for the School of History & Philosophy of Science / Science & Technology Studies as presented to Council. Occasionally there are minutes only for the reporting year or a report for a year may be missing. Annual reports by the head of school for these years can be found in S845.

    Description
    Annual report to the visiting committee of the School of History & Philosophy of Science / Science & Technology Studies by the head of School to the School's Visiting Committee. The reports were presented to the Visiting Committee prior to its annual meeting and also sometimes have the notice for the meeting of the Visiting Committee attached. The Archives' holding of this series are incomplete, but further reports, along with the minutes of the Committee, can be found in series 2225.

    Description
    This series consists of handbooks produced for undergraduate students by the school of Science and Technology / History and Philosophy of Science. The booklets provide information on the School and the courses it offers. The booklets, however, were not intended as a substitute for Faculty or Board of Studies handbooks. Students still were required to check the official publications for course requirements. The handbooks are part of a donation of papers relating to the school by Professor David Miller upon his retirement from UNSW

    This series consists of subject files from the School of Science and Technology Studies / School of History and Philosophy of Science. The material is typed and has been arranged according to subject matter. Most of the documents are from 2002 and cover reviews and proposed changes within the School. There is also a folder of staff curriculm vitae from over the years that have been removed from School-held HR files.

    Description
    This series consists of minutes, agendas and papers of staff meetings of the Department / School of Philosophy. The meetings are a vehicle for discussions and decisions on issues such as funding and staffing allocations, teaching methods, subjects of programs and course structure, performance of students and marking and assessment. The head of school also uses the meetings to report back on university and faculty business and developments. The Archives currently only holds items from this series for 2002.

    Description
    In March 1963 the History and Political Science departments in the School of History & Political Science were separated, with the School of History once again becoming an independent school in the Faculty of Arts (Council 11 March 1963, 63/3), under the Professor of History, JHM Salmon. He was followed by Professor Frank Crowley in 1966. On 10th December, 1990 Council changed the name of the Faculty of Arts to the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences (resolution CL90/108ii). As part of a Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences restructure, the School of History was disestablished effective 31 January 2007. It was amalgamated with the schools of Philosophy and History & Philosophy of Science to form the new School of History and Philosophy (6 February 2007 Academic Board papers).     This appears to be the same Committee as the Ad Hoc Committee to Review the Aims & Philosophy of the Science / Science & Mathematics Course of the Board of Studies in Science / Science & Mathematics, briefly operating under a different name and function. At the 9th February, 1977 meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Studies in Science & Mathematics, resolution 77/15 was passed that the ad hoc Committee to review the Aims & Philosophy of the Science & Mathematics course be asked to review all double degrees offered between the Board of Studies and other faculties.
