Description
On 6 July 1998 Council gave its approval for the Department of Safety Science to be changed into a School of Safety Science in the Faculty of Science & Technology (resolution CL98/51b). On 18 June, 2001 Council resolved to disestablish the Faculty of Science & Technology and create a new single model Faculty of Science effective from 1 July, 2001 - including the School of Safety Science (resolution CL001/49). On 7 February 2008 the name of the school was changed to the School of Risk & Safety Sciences (Academic Board resolution AB08/02). On 29 January 2010 the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and President of the Academic Board approved the disestablishment of the School of Risk and Safety Sciences according to the timetable provided.
